The Problem Indoor space showing air quality challenge
dp ceiling-mounted uniform distribution vs floor unit localised airflow
Ceiling-mounted: uniform distribution vs. floor unit: localised airflow
The Challenge

Indoor air is more complex than it appears

In occupied spaces, fine particles, aerosols, pollen, dust and particle-bound biological contaminants can remain suspended in the air for long periods. The challenge is not filtration alone - it is how evenly clean air reaches the zone where people breathe.

01
Uneven air cleaning Conventional floor-standing units can create strong local airflows near the device, while other areas of the occupied zone receive less effective air cleaning.
02
Particle accumulation at breathing height Fine particles, aerosols, pollen and dust are often present in the breathing zone. Without effective air distribution, they can remain suspended and circulate within the room.
03
Filtration rate alone does not define air quality A unit with excellent filter efficiency but poor air distribution may not provide uniform clean air across the full occupied zone of a room.
Ceiling-Mounted Air Purification

Cleaner indoor air where people actually breathe

Ceiling-mounted HEPA H14 and HEPA H10filtration with 360° air distribution and integrated lighting — designed for uniform air cleaning, practical room integration and reliable filtration performance in demanding environments.

Supported by airflow analysis under research conditions - not by laboratory filter performance alone.

Why Ceiling-Mounted

A fundamentally different approach to air distribution

The installation position of an air purifier determines how air actually reaches people. dp is engineered to draw air from above the occupied zone and return clean air across the full room width — without consuming floor space or disrupting the room.

Floor-standing portable unit
Conventional Approach Floor-standing portable units
Occupies floor space and disrupts room flow
Localised airflow — limited distribution radius
Visible and difficult to integrate architecturally
Draws air at floor level, not breathing height
Creates dead zones in larger rooms
vs
dp ceiling-mounted system
dp rexo Approach Ceiling-mounted recirculating system
No floor space required — zero room disruption
360° radial distribution at breathing height
Integrates cleanly into architecture and interior
Positioned above aerosol generation zone
More homogeneous particle reduction across the room
Technology

How dp rexo works

Each dp rexo unit combines proven filtration stages with carefully engineered airflow geometry. The result is consistent particle reduction across the entire occupied zone.

360° Air Intake 01
360° Air Intake
Air is drawn horizontally at ceiling level, above the occupied zone and the primary aerosol generation area.
HEPA H14 Filtration 02
HEPA H14 Filtration
All air passes through a medical-grade HEPA H14 filter, retaining ≥99.995% of particles at MPPS (0.3 µm), including aerosols, fine dust, pollen, and biological contaminants.
UV-C Hygiene Stage 03
UV-C Hygiene Stage
UV-C irradiation acts directly on the HEPA H14 filter surface inside the closed device to neutralise residual biological contamination at the filter layer — not in room air.
Uniform Air Return 04
Uniform Air Return
Cleaned air is distributed radially at 360° back into the room, ensuring even coverage at breathing height across the full occupied floor area.
Filter Class HEPA H14 — retains ≥99.995% at Most Penetrating Particle Size
Optional Stage Activated carbon for odour and Volatile Organic Compounds reduction
Sizing Basis Room volume (m³) × target air changes per hour
Integrated Lighting Multi-band LED, selectable 2700–6000 K
Air Distribution 360° radial, ceiling intake, breathing-height return
Maintenance Timely filter replacement essential for sustained performance

Everything you need to know before choosing a dp purifier

How is dp different from a portable air purifier? + -

dp is ceiling-mounted, drawing air above the occupied zone and distributing clean air at 360° across the full room width. Portable floor-standing units create localised airflow near the device only, leaving large areas of the room inadequately cleaned. This fundamental positional difference results in more homogeneous particle reduction at breathing height, as validated by independent research at TU Berlin and in real clinical environments.

Which dp system is right for my room? + -

Correct sizing depends on room volume (m³) and the required air changes per hour (ACH) for your application — not floor area alone. As a general direction: dp Pro is suited to rooms up to approximately 40 m² depending on room height and target ACH; dp Industrial for rooms up to approximately 80 m². Use the sizing tool above or contact us for a personalised recommendation.

What filter technology is used? + -

dp uses HEPA H14 filtration — the highest standard HEPA filter classification — which retains ≥99.995% of particles at the most penetrating particle size (MPPS, 0.3 µm). Depending on the application, an activated carbon stage for odour and VOC reduction can be added. UV-C irradiation acts on the filter surface inside the closed device as an additional hygiene stage.

How often do filters need to be replaced? + -

Timely filter replacement is a critical operational requirement — confirmed by clinical study findings which noted that filter maintenance directly impacts sustained performance. Replacement intervals depend on usage intensity, environmental particle load, and operating hours. We recommend a scheduled maintenance plan appropriate to the specific installation environment.

Is sizing based on room area or room volume? + -

Sizing should always be based on room volume (m³) combined with the target number of air changes per hour (ACH) for the application type. Room area alone is not a sufficient basis because ceiling height significantly affects the total air volume to be treated. For example, a 40 m² room at 3.0 m ceiling height requires 120 m³ per air change — meaningfully different from the same area at 2.5 m height.

Can dp be used in healthcare or education settings? + -

Yes. dp has been independently measured in active clinical environments, including a hospital setting in New Delhi where 99.967% particle removal was confirmed at 0.3 µm. Both healthcare and education installations are well-documented application contexts. The dp Industrial model meets the requirements of VDI-EE 4300 Sheet 14.

Does the system include activated carbon? + -

Activated carbon filtration for odour and VOC reduction is available as an optional stage depending on application and model specification. It is particularly relevant where chemical compounds, cooking odours, or volatile organic compounds are a concern alongside particle filtration. Contact us to discuss which configuration suits your specific environment.

What role does UV-C play inside the device? + -

UV-C irradiation inside dp acts directly on the surface of the HEPA H14 filter within the closed device housing. Its function is to provide an additional hygiene stage — neutralising biological contaminants captured at the filter surface. The UV-C system operates exclusively within the sealed device and does not irradiate room air or occupants.

Can dp help with pollen, dust and odours? + -

Yes. dp uses HEPA H14 and HEPA H10 filtration to help reduce airborne pollen, dust, fine particles and aerosols. The activated carbon stage supports odour reduction and selected VOC reduction, depending on the application and operating conditions. This makes dp especially relevant for allergy-sensitive living spaces, bedrooms and indoor environments during pollen season.
