The air purification efficiency of dp-Purifier compared to industrial floor standing units has been investigated by

TU Berlin Hermann Rietschel Institute

in a classroom with 24 students (floor space: 60 m2, height: 3.0 m).

As the simulation studies show, the air purification level with the dp lamp at a height of 0.1 m to 2.5 m (occupied zone and breathing height mainly in kindergartens and primary schools) is considerably more effective than with mobile floor-standing units.

Measurement of Air and Volume Flow

A room was simulated with the size of 6 m length, 4 m width and a ceiling height of 2.5 meters. Our dp-Lamp Dust & Pollution Air Purifier Lamp was positioned in the middle of the room to measure the total airflow in cubic metres and the volumetric flow delivered.

The total room size and volume were 24 m² and 60 m³ respectively.

In order to achieve an effective air exchange and to contain the occurrence of infections in closed rooms, a threefold air exchange of the total room volume per hour is required.

Volume Flow of the Air Purifier

The measured volume flow in different fan speeds, shows the actual volume flow, minus the pressure loss from the HEPA 14 filter and the housing of the air purification lamp:

from 480 1/min : volume flow of 104 m³ per hour
from 727 1/min : volume flow of 204 m³ per hour
from 1050 1/min : volume flow of 350 m³ per hour
from 1450 1/min : volume flow of 550 m³ per hour

The dp-Lamp Dust & Pollution Air Purifier Lamp can be adjusted up to a speed of 1450 1/min to produce a higher volume flow of over 550 m³ /h.
